CSN+

The project aims to:

  • Protect and conserve over 200,000 hectares of forest across northern Peru

  • Provide conservation finance and technical support to communities.

  • Avoided emissions  over 2.8M  tCO₂e

Café Selva Norte promotes forest conservation and the development of nature-based solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with deforestation and the degradation of Peru’s tropical forests.

The Selva Norte Conservation Project (CSN+) (Project ID4674) is a grouped REDD+ initiative developed under methodology VM0015, by Ecotierra and financed by Urapi.

We are operating in Amazonas, Cajamarca, and San Martín, the project works with communities and forest owners to reduce deforestation and strengthen sustainable land management in the northern Peruvian Amazon. Through mechanisms such as the Bridge Financing Mechanism (BFM), CSN+ supports conservation, strengthens governance, and promotes sustainable production.

Our vision is to safeguard threatened Amazonian forests through community-based conservation, reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation while strengthening local governance. By supporting sustainable livelihoods through agroforestry and climate-smart production, we aim to consolidate a strategic biodiversity corridor in northern Peru.
